Water ripple test
The water ripple test for the handpan is a method used to assess the sound quality and
characteristics of the handpan. Similar to observing ripples on the surface of water, this test
involves striking the handpan to generate sound waves and observing the vibration patterns on
the surface of the handpan. This test helps in detecting the resonance frequency, sound clarity,
and richness of tone of the handpan, thereby further enhancing the playing experience and
sound quality of the instrument.
Handpan sound wave
Through the handpan perfect resonance frequency, rich harmonic structure, and various
playing techniques and intensities, subtle tonal variations can be produced. Additionally, tuners
meticulously inspect each note, minimizing any potential fluctuations, thereby making the
playing experience more vivid and diverse.
Thermal treatment nitriding process
The nitriding heat treatment process for handpan is a crucial manufacturing technique aimed at
enhancing their durability and sound quality. This process involves high-temperature treatment
and nitriding, which forms a robust nitride layer on the surface of the handpan, increasing its
hardness and wear resistance while enhancing resonance effects, resulting in a richer and more
harmonious sound. Moreover, all our handpan undergo at least 5 rounds of heat treatment,
ensuring more stable sound quality.
